On behalf of Organising Committee, ADDICON 2024 – The 4th Annual National Conference of Addiction Psychiatry Society of India ( APSI), It is our pleasure and privilege to invite you all to this prestigious conference being held from 17 to 19th October 2024, at Srinagar by the Department of Psychiatry SKIMS Medical College with the support of J&K Psychiatry Society. The “Paradise on Earth” Kashmir is among the world-famous destinations of our country, sprawling with the natural scenic

beauty of Dal Lake, mountains, gardens and houseboats.

 

The theme of the ADDICON 2024 “Nature vs Nurture; Preventing Relapse, Maintaining Recovery” is very appropriately chosen as many of our patients suffering from addiction disorders have high relapse rates which are adding to the number of patients in our community which otherwise

has seen significant rise in the number of such cases in last decade or so. Opioid Use, especially injectable heroin use is posing a big challenge to every individual, family, society, law enforcement agencies, Health care services especially dealing with such patients and to all concerned stake holders.

 

The rising prevalence of dreadful infections like HIV AIDS, Hepatitis B & C infection has complicated the scenario further, hence a need to deliberate upon the topics in detail. Distinguished and eminent speakers with experience and knowledge in this area will be contributing and sharing their knowledge to make the academic program useful. Participating delegates in the conference will exchange their ideas upon different aspects of the topics relevant to the themes. We are sure that the conference will fulfil the objective with which it is conceived.
